A new curry house in County Durham is hoping to make a name for itself at the site of a former Turkish restaurant after opening its doors at the end of last month.
On Thursday, September 28, Namaste Indian Restaurant opened on Cheapside in Spennymoor to a host of intrigued diners waiting to see what it was all about.
And now, two weeks after opening, it seems like the Baltis, Biriyanis, and Tandoori dishes have worked a treat after some reviews have described the restaurant as "fantastic" and "a real treat".

The restaurant, which offers both dine-in and takeaway, has plenty on the menu to order from - and has even confirmed that it will be open on Christmas Day this year.
For foodie fans in County Durham, the Namaste brand might seem familiar to you, with the venue having the same owners as the former Namaste restaurant that has now closed at St. John’s Road on Meadowfield Industrial Estate, Durham.

Despite the former Namaste restaurant on the industrial estate closing because of rising costs, it seems the new Spennymoor restaurant is ready to wow customers with its food and hospitality, under the ownership of Taj Uddin.
Namaste started the refit on Cheapside in July of this year, with excited customers, who were regulars at the Meadowfield Industrial Estate, desperate to try the Spennymoor venue.
The restaurant can be found online and on social media, and does not open on Mondays, except on Bank Holidays.
