David and Victoria Beckham have broken their silence against David’s alleged affair in the early 2000s.

It comes after the couple released a new four-part Netflix documentary series which was released today (October 4).

Until now, the Beckham’s who married in 1999 have never spoken publicly about their marriage troubles when David started playing for Real Madrid in 2003.

Who did David Beckham allegedly have an affair with?

In one episode of 'Beckham', Victoria spoke about how the allegations impacted their relationship, saying: “It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us.

“Here’s the thing — we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.

“You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.

“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either.

“And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare.

“It was an absolute circus — and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it.”

Elsewhere on the show, newspapers appeared on the screen covering the 2004 allegations made by his former PA Rebecca Loos.

She claimed to have an affair with David whilst he was playing for Real Madrid, reports The Mirror.

However, Rebecca isn’t named in the documentary.

When the Spice Girls singer was asked if she “resented” her husband, she replied: “If I’m being totally honest, yes I did. It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life.”

In the Netflix special, David also addresses how the speculation affected them individually and in their marriage.

He said: “There was some horrible stories which were difficult to deal with.

“It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

The 48-year-old added: "When I first moved to Spain it was difficult because I've been part of a club and a family for my whole career from the age of 15 to I was 27 years old. I get sold overnight. The next minute I am in a city. I don't speak the language. More importantly, I didn't have my family."

Beckham is now available to stream on Netflix.
