Beloved Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman died after prostate cancer spread to his bone.

Goodman’s cause of death was confirmed following the release of his death certificate seen by the Express.

The dancer died three days before his 79 birthday in April surrounded by his family in a hospice in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Back in 2009, Goodman was treated for prostate cancer while filming Strictly Come Dancing but chose to keep the diagnosis out of the public eye.

The Northern Echo:

At the time, the dancer told the BBC: “People generally think ‘bloody hell’. With all the hoo-ha about Strictly coming up, I thought, ‘Just my luck, they won’t want that old f**t on it, the cancer-riddled, bed-ridden old so–and–so”.

But now in Goodman’s death certificate seen by the Express, the cancer returned and spread to his bones, recorded as “metastatic prostate cancer.”

Len Goodman’s cause of death confirmed

Previously, the Strictly judges agent Jackie Gill shared that Goodman's death was bone cancer, revealing: “It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78.

"A much-loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him.”

The Northern Echo:

Goodman left Strictly back in 2016, starring in it for 12 years when he began his role as judge back in 2004.

Following his death, Goodman was met with heartfelt tributes as dancer and current Strictly judge Anton Du Beke praised how Goodman would tell people they danced terribly, saying: "He would tell you were dancing awfully in such a nice way that you didn't really mind."

Whilst fellow Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood said “Len Goody Goodman is what I always called him and 'It's a ten from Len & seveeeeern' will live with me forever."
