The winner of a photography competition has been announced by a North East MP.
Kerry Kelly’s picture of her daughter at Ebchester Boat House is the winner of Richard Holden’s inaugural North West Durham photo competition.

The picture was judged by Mr Holden and a panel of experts from scores of entries.
Judges liked the beautiful natural scene and the tenderness between the girl and her pony.

Mr Holden said: “North West Durham is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful corners of the country.
“However, it is also one of our nation’s best kept secrets.
“This photo competition aims to celebrate our beautiful surroundings but also give people a chance to step back and appreciate how lucky we are to live here.”
