Durham County Council have today (September 19) paid tribute to a councillor who has died.
Leanne Kennedy, was elected as a Labour councillor for the Dawdon Ward in 2017 and has served on the council ever since.

Following the sad news, Durham County Council paid tribute to their colleague with a statement on the late councillor's page online.
The statement says: "The council is sad to announce that Councillor Leanne Kennedy has passed away.
"Leanne was elected to the council in 2017 and was one of our councillors for the Dawdon Division. Our thoughts are with Leanne’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.
"This page will be updated with funeral arrangements as and when they become available."
