A BMW and police van were towed away this morning (September 19) in Stockton after they collided whilst officers were responding to a call.

Bishopton Avenue in Stockton was the scene of a crash this morning when a police van crashed into another vehicle whilst responding to a call.

Images from the scene show the white BMW and police car were both damaged in the crash, parked sideways whilst other motorists drove around the collision.

Inside the police van, images show the airbag had been deployed.

Following the incident, both cars were towed away and there are no reported injuries from the crash.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Shortly before 9am today there was a damage-only collision involving a Cleveland Police vehicle which was responding to a call, and a member of the public’s car which was being driven at the time.

"There are no reported injuries from this incident and the police vehicle was recovered from the scene at Bishopton Avenue, Stockton."
