A 30-year-old man has been arrested following a burglary in progress in Teesside over the weekend that saw a boiler and heating system removed from a property.

Police descended on Runcorn Avenue in Roseworth, Stockton just after 10am on Saturday (September 16) after reports of an ongoing burglary.

At least five police vehicles and multiple officers were pictured on the residential street attending to the incident.

Police have now confirmed a man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been bailed pending further enquiries. 

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "A burglary in progress at an address on Runcorn Avenue, Stockton was reported to police just after 10am on Saturday, September 16.

"It was reported that a heating system and boiler were being removed from the property.

"Officers attended and a 30-year-old man was arrested soon afterwards on suspicion of burglary.  He was interviewed and then bailed pending further enquiries."
