The weather is set to be warm today with the North East expected to see rain throughout the day.

After flooding hit parts of the region yesterday, Darlington residents can expect a warm, cloudy and rainy day on Monday (September 11).

The forecaster also said limited brighter spells will be followed by heavier downpours, with there also being a small chance of thunder.

Residents can also expect light winds over the course of the day, while rain will become heavier tonight before moving South-East.

Adding to this, the Met Office also said residents can expect a maximum temperature of 24 °C today.
