A man has been taken to hospital following an 'alleged assault' in the early hours of this morning (September 9).

Emergency services were called to the area of Kingsport Close and Lamport Close in Stockton last night to reports of an 'alleged assault'.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) have confirmed they attended the incident with two ambulances, which has left one person in hospital after they were treated for head injuries.

Images from the scene this morning show a police cordon has been erected at the scene following the incident, meaning a large portion of the estate including the roads are blocked off.

A house on the estate has also been blocked off with police tape.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 03.37h today (September 9) to reports of an alleged assault on a man at a private address in Stockton.

"We dispatched two paramedic ambulances and a clinical team leader, who treated a patient for head injuries before taking them to hospital."

Cleveland Police have been contacted for more information.
