Excitement is building in Northallerton as the new McDonald's building is brought in by crane.

It is hoped that after five and a half weeks of work, the new site will be up and running in October.

Northallerton residents would previously have faced a 15-minute drive to Leeming Bar to get a Big Mac.

The new business will bring lots of jobs to the area.

Plans for the site show how it will have an outdoor seating area, parking spaces and drive-through lanes.

The planning application previously stated: "The scheme will create new local employment opportunities, benefitting the local community especially as the site falls within the ‘EG2 Key Employment Location’ boundary.

"The proposed development will make effective and efficient use of a brownfield site and will provide infrastructure for electric vehicles and cyclists."

Keep an eye out for the job adverts that will be popping up soon to fill all the roles at the new drive-through.
