Police have thanked the public after they found a missing teenage girl last seen wearing her NUFC strip at Friday (August 18) lunchtime.

The sixteen-year-old was last seen in the Byker area of Newcastle at around 12.30pm and had not been heard from since.

Officers said they were growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and appealed to the public for help.

She has now been found.
