Darlington Pride is back this month and there is plenty of performers lined up to entertain the crowds and create a party atmosphere.
As Darlington’s only LGBT+ event, it’s sure to be a big weekend with lots of options for entertainment, food and drink, and stallholders.
Darlington Pride first had a daytime event in 2019 and it was a huge success, with the Market Square transformed into a carnival-esque celebration.
Venues include Market Square, South Park, and pubs and bars on Blackwellgate in the town centre.

Saturday, August 12 - Market Square
Pride celebrations are starting with a march followed by live music throughout the day, stalls from local organisations, merchandise, street theatre, and food and drink in the Market Square.
The Pride march will leave the Market Square at 12pm, head up through Horsemarket, High Row, and then loop around Bondgate, Skinnergate, and Blackwellgate.
Voices of Darlington will be opening the festival with a stellar performance, and other acts include; X-Factor star Bupsi Brown Tina Turner's tribute will also pay homage to the late singer. Rogue Minogue will be performing a high-energy set.

Sunday, August 13 - South Park
A Pride Picnic and Rainbow Trail for families with relaxed entertainment, children’s activities, and acoustic music.
Monday August 14 - Blackwellgate and town centre venues
Darlington's long-established MonGay Pride celebrations include live performances and special guests throughout the night from 5pm until late.
This will mainly be taking place on Blackwellgate and elsewhere in the town centre. Vocalist Leanne Harper will be making an appearance as Beyonce, Carmen Showtunes will be entertaining the crowds from 6pm, and Kelly Marie will be performing a Cher tribute.
