If you own Premium Bonds or you’re just curious to see who won in your area this month, look no further.

Plenty of people won in County Durham with prizes ranging from £5,000 to as high as £10,000.

National Savings and Investment (NS&I) have announced the August 2023 winners, so let’s take a look.

A total of seven people in the county have won £10,000 and the following winning bonds can be found below:

  • Winning bond number 45KC811545, valued at £5,000, bought in April 2001 with an overall holding of £29,993.
  • Winning bond number 271VS579275, valued at £35,000, bought in April 2016 with an overall holding of £49,825.
  • Winning bond number 409HX121754, valued at £50,000, bought in August 2020 with an overall holding of £50,000.
  • Winning bond number 329AL690858, valued at £50,000, bought in April 2018 with an overall holding of £50,000.
  • Winning bond number 202NL642890, valued at £3,000, bought in February 2013 with an overall holding of £40,000.
  • Winning bond number 525BN501582, valued at £5,000, bought in January 2023 with an overall holding of £5,300.
  • Winning bond number 270TR622124, valued at £10,000, bought in April 2016 with an overall holding of £10,000.

Amount of Premium Bond prizes won in August in County Durham

Every month only two winners in the UK take home £1 million but there are still plenty of other prizes available.

As well as the seven people who have won £10,000 in County Durham this month, seven bond owners also won £5,000.

The overall total for County Durham in August was £105,000.

How to see if you’ve won on Premium Bonds

You can check your account via the NS&I website.

Prize draws are conducted every month and prizes up to £1,000,000 are given away.

To find out if you have ever won a Premium Bonds prize, you will need to dig out your holder's information and head over to the prize checker.

You will need your holder’s number which you can find on your bond record, or in the app.

You can also use your NS&I number which you should be able to find on any communication about your bonds.
