Richmond is set to celebrate Yorkshire Day in style this year with a full artisan market.

Whether you're after homemade cakes, jewellery from glass collected on Yorkshire beaches or locally distilled beer, it will have it all.

The goods on display will all have a Yorkshire theme or be made in the area.

The event will be a partnership between Richmond Town Council and Little Bird Artisan Market.

Jackie Crozier, Managing Director of Little Bird Artisan Market, said: "We work in some of the most beautiful locations in Yorkshire and what better place to celebrate Yorkshire Day than one of North Yorkshire's finest?

"We are really happy to work with Richmond Town Council to deliver our artisan market and celebrate some of Yorkshire's best small businesses and their locally sourced goods.

"There will be lots to see and do on the day, so grab the family or friend, not forgetting the dog and come along and visit us."

Along with the artisan market, there will be a range of activities for families visiting on the day.

There will be a flat cap race, Yorkshire pub and spoon race, OWD folks race and ‘With T’Whippet Race’ (bring your dog).

All of the markets will be held outside and all local eateries will be open celebrating the event.

It will be a great opportunity to show your support for local businesses in the area.

The local cafes and pubs will also be competing to make the biggest Yorkshire pudding with prizes for the widest and tallest.

The market will take place on Tuesday 1st August, between 9am – 3pm at Richmond Market Place.
