A Stockton woman was airlifted to James Cook Hospital after stabbing incident in Stockton.

At around 4pm on July 21 a man and a woman were attacked on Hartington Road.

The woman suffered a stab wound and the man sustained head injuries during the altercation.

Police arrested a 27-year-old woman and charged her with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

A 28-year-old man was also arrested and charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place and causing actual bodily harm.

Both have been held in custody.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 4pm on Friday 21st July to Hartington Road in Stockton following reports of an altercation.

"One woman suffered a stab wound and was taken to James Cook Hospital by air ambulance where her injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening.

"A 27-year-old woman was arrested and charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

"Both have been remanded in custody."
