A popular North East food festival taking place in September will see a performance from one of the world’s most loved music artists.

Music legend Rick Astley is set to wow crowds at Sedgefield’s annual Oyster Festival at the Hardwick Hotel on September 29 this year.

Fresh off his performance at Glastonbury this year, Rick Astley will never let the North East down as he will headlines the festival alongside Irish band The Emerald Thieves, JJ Galway Band and comedian Josh Daniels.

The Oyster festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, will see guests enjoy fresh oysters brought in from around the country as well as crab, prawns and Scottish salmon.

The day will kick off at noon and last until 6pm, with guests also able to enjoy a set by DJ Brandon Block whilst the whole day is overseen by compere Steve Walls.

Attendees will also be able to sip on complimentary Guinness and wine throughout the day as they dance along to Astley’s hits including Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever.
