Police are appealing for an assault victim to come forward after he fled the scene after being attacked.
The incident happened in Hartlepool on Victoria Road at around 6.20am.
After being assaulted the male victim fled the scene and police are hoping to find him to check on his wellbeing.
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene by Cleveland Police on suspicion of common assault.

He remains in police custody.
