An investigation has been launched after a fatal plane crash close to a North Yorkshire airfield last night (July 6).
The Air Accidents Investigations Branch have confirmed that a plane crash that took place last night in North Yorkshire was "fatal".
Emergency services were spotted at the site of a plane crash near Bagby Airfield in Thirsk, North Yorkshire just before 8pm on Thursday, July 6.

A spokesperson for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch has since confirmed the incident was fatal but it is still unknown how many persons were involved.
They said: “The AAIB has launched an investigation into a fatal accident involving a twin-engine light aircraft which occurred yesterday near Bagby Airfield, Thirsk, Yorkshire.
"A team of inspectors arrived on site this morning to gather evidence and begin an investigation.”
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service has confirmed they attended the scene but did not confirm how many patients were treated.
