As we head into the weekend, the Met Office has predicted scattered showers and cloud coverage for Darlington and the North East.

The weather today (July 1) will see a cloudy start with occasional showers, but cloud breaking will give sunny spells and light showers. Strong and gusty winds can be expected at times and forecasters predict these strong winds will continue overnight and into Sunday (July 2)
