The weather is set to be warm today with the North East expected to see sunny spells.

After a rainy day yesterday, Darlington residents can expect warm and sunny weather on Wednesday (June 20) according to the Met Office.

The forecaster also said cloud will spread throughout the morning with scattered heavy, locally thundery showers developing. 

Adding to this, the Met Office also said residents can expect a maximum temperature of 23 °C today.
