Seven dogs from a North East Dog's Trust are looking for their forever homes.

The dogs - Lola, Trigger, Smudge, Della, Max, and Lexi - range in breed and age, but all share one thing in common: they are longing for the love of a new family.

Lola

The Northern Echo: Lola

Lola, a five-year-old German Shepherd Dog Cross, is looking for patient owners who can help her build her confidence and show her the joys of living in a home.

A lover of other dogs, Lola would potentially benefit from living with another dog or having regular walking pals.

She does have hip dysplasia and will be on long-term pain relief.

Lola will require a couple of meets with potential adopters as she can be a little worried by new people.

She will be best suited to a quiet home with children aged 14 and over.

Trigger

The Northern Echo: Trigger

Trigger, an eight-year-old Terrier (Staffordshire Bull), is described as a bubbly dog who loves to be everyone's friend.

Although he wouldn't suit living with young children, kids over 12 should be fine.

Trigger does not get along with other dogs and will need to be the only pet in his home.

He'll need access to quiet walking areas, but he's fine with travelling and can potentially have walking buddies to share his trips out with.

Smudge

The Northern Echo: Smudge

Smudge, an eight-year-old Saluki Cross, is a little shy around new people, but once she is friends with you, she really enjoys coming for a fuss and will happily sit next to you, snuggling in.

Smudge is looking for a cat-free home and to be with children age 16 and above.

Della

The Northern Echo: Della

Della, a six to twelve-month-old American Bulldog, is described as a young girl looking for dedicated and patient owners who can help her grow in confidence and improve her social skills with people and dogs.

She's sensitive and will need an adult-only household to settle into.

Della would like a home with easy access to an off-lead area such as a garden.

Max

The Northern Echo: Max

Max, a two to five-year-old Rottweiler Cross, is a sweet boy with a fun, bubbly personality.

He enjoys being around people, but he's better suited to a quieter home with older teens (16+) and will be best as the only pet in the home.

Lexi

The Northern Echo: Lexi

Lexi, a five to seven-year-old Terrier (Staffordshire Bull) Cross, is a super sweet girl who will make a fantastic friend for someone.

She is a real people person and adores the fuss and company her human friends provide.

Once settled in her new environment, Lexi may be able to be left for a couple of hours but needs to be the only dog in the home.

If any of these dogs sound like they'd be the perfect match for you, be sure to get in touch with Darlington Dog Trust to enquire about adoption.

Rick

The Northern Echo: RickRick (Image: Picture: DARLINGTON DOG'S TRUST)

Rick is between 5-7 years old and is a medium-sized male dog who has stolen the hearts of his carers.

His ideal home would be with owners that will carry on his training and dedicate themselves to him.

He enjoys his food and loves playing with toys, especially tennis balls, as they are the best way to his heart.

Rick will need to be the only dog at home but can share his new family with children aged 16 and over.

On walks, he will need to be kept on a lead and a muzzle but will require socialisation with other dogs.

Rick prefers his walks in quieter areas to enjoy the peace and sniff around without worrying about other dogs.

Once you meet Rick, his charming nature is sure to win you over.
