An airline has scrapped all its flights to and from a North East, with the final flight set to take off at the end of the month.

Eastern Airways has pulled its route from Newcastle to Aberdeen from the end of the month.

The route was recommenced in September 2021 after being grounded due to the pandemic. The airline then upped its schedule in November last year to add a second daily flight between the two cities on weekdays.

The Northern Echo has contacted Eastern Airways for comment.

In 2021 the airline cancelled its routes to and from Teesside Airport, including one to Aberdeen.

The Echo reported at the time that it was suggested Eastern would focus on its operations from Newcastle.
