A senior dog at Darlington’s Dogs Trust shelter is looking for his forever home – could you be his perfect match?

An eleven-year-old terrier cross pooch is dreaming of his future family at Darlington’s Dog Trust branch.

Digger, who is a small male crossbreed terrier, needs an adult only home with no other pets or children.

Described online as a “fantastic boy”, Digger is said to be extremely clever despite having “little experience” of home life that has left him with anxiety.

The shelter said: “Digger is very sensitive to noise, so his home will ideally be in a peaceful area away from busy roads and outdoor noise.

“Although he can't share his home with any other pets, he is sociable around dogs on walks once introduced, so owners will be encouraged to continue finding him pals.”

Said to be a treat lover, Digger’s future family have been told the canine will “show off his repertoire” for any tasty morsels that could come this way.

Digger is just one of many dogs available for adoption at Dogs Trust’s Darlington centre, located just north of Sadberge.

Open since 1994, the shelter has helped find forever homes for over 18,000 dogs, with the public invited to visit all the pooches ready for a forever home in visiting hours.
