A County Durham man has been fined over £1000 after he failed to clear up building materials and a rusty oil drum from his property.
The man, who is from John Street, No Place, County Durham, was fined £1147 in court following an investigation by Durham County Council.
After failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice (CPN), the court has ordered the man to pay the fine for not removing waste from his property.

The court judgement follows on from the man being given an opportunity to remove waste from his property, but decided to ignore warnings and notices that required the removal of the waste.
Durham County Council then took him to court as a last resort and the case was heard in his absence and he was found guilty of failing to comply with a CPN and has to pay a total of £1147 in fines and costs.
