A major high street retailer has announced that they will open a new store in one of the North East’s premier shopping locations.

Clarks will be opening a store in Newcastle city centre this weekend. The shoe-selling chain will this Sunday (May 14) take over the former Office unit in the upper mall at Eldon Square, which is marketed as “the city centre’s shopping and dining destination”.

Though Clarks do already have a store in the centre, located on Hotspur Way, this will be closing and rebranded for a new store, which is going to be opening later this year.

With an annual footfall of 26 million a year, Eldon Square is one of the UK’s most visited city centre shopping malls. Clarks will add to the selection of over 140 retailers, which currently includes John Lewis & Partners, Fenwick, Apple, Boots, Next and H&M.

Clarks offer a range of women’s, men’s, and children’s footwear, and is one of the nation’s go-to brands for footwear for the whole family, with stores up and down the country.

Bernice Nesham, Senior Asset Manager at Pradera Lateral, commented: “We can confirm Clarks will be re-opening in a newly refurbished unit this weekend.
