Crowds gathered at the rugby club in Durham to watch the coronation on the big screen.
A marquee erected for the occasion was the location for around 300 people watching King Charles being crowned.
The weather held off with mild temperatures and dry skies marking the start of Charles’ reign.

Those gathered in the marquee wore fake crowns under Union Flag bunting.
All generations came along to mark the historic moment ranging from babies in prams up to those who could remember the Queen’s Coronation seven decades ago.
There was face painting and balloon art for the youngsters and many brought picnics to enjoy as they watched the events unfold.
A cry of “to the King” was heckled across the tent as Charles was donned with his crown for the first time.
