North Tyneside, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton will all be announced this afternoon.

All eyes will be on Darlington where the Conservatives will be hoping to cling onto power despite devastating losses elsewhere in the region.

In Hartlepool the Tories, who won the Parliamentary seat in 2021, suffered a major blow as Labour swept to being just two votes from power.

And on Tyneside and Wearside Labour held on to its control of Newcastle, Sunderland and South Tyneside Councils.
