House prices in County Durham have gone down by an average of over £500 in the month of February, according to figures from the Land Registry.

This was down from £132,576 in January, representing a 0.4 per cent decrease. In the last 12 months it has risen by 10.3 per cent.

The fall in prices this month means County Durham is still far below the UK average with typical property value in the nations reaching £287,506 in February.

In cash terms, the average house price in February was £15,052 higher than a year earlier with house price growth accelerating to 5.5 per cent in February 2023. Prices were down by -1.0 per cent month on month.
