A woman who had a fall while on her mobility scooter was thankful after being assisted by a local PCSO and a community tri-responder.

She needed hospital treatment for her broken arm but she was kept warm and comfortable until paramedics arrived on the scene.

The incident happened on Thursday (March 30) in Wolsingham.

A spokesperson for Durham Police said: “PCSO Adam Turnbull and community tri-responder Jamie Clarkson came across a lady and her mother who had taken a tumble from her scooter in Wolsingham.

“The officers kept the elderly lady warm and comfortable while they waited for paramedics.

“Thankfully the well-humoured patient is now back home after being treated in hospital for a broken arm.

“And PCSO Turnbull and CTR Clarkson received a lovely message from her daughter today thanking them for their kindness – the best kind of feedback.

“We wish the lady a speedy recovery.”
