County Durham has been named as one of the cheapest places to buy a house in the UK.

The new research comes as inflation rates continue to rise and people now more than ever are considering ways to keep the price of everyday life down due to the cost of living crisis.

County Durham named one of the cheapest places to buy a home in the UK

The county was ranked 6th place with an average house price of £133,364.77 and is cheaper than the likes of Blackpool and Aberdeen.

The experts said: “County Durham is found in the North East of England, and has a rich industrial heritage.

“There’s a lot to explore, such as the Durham Cathedral and Castle, as well as the stunning countryside.

“County Durham is also home to many old mining villages, if you’re into history.”
