A new pasta business has opened in Darlington, offering eat-in, take-out, and delivery will soon be an option too.

Casa Della Pasta opened on Skinnergate on Monday (March 20) in the unit once occupied by Barnacles Fish & Chips, and business has been getting busier and busier day by day.

Offering pasta, loaded fries, salads, sandwiches, sweet treats, and hot and cold drinks.

The Northern Echo headed down today (Thursday, March 23) to get a flavour of Casa Della Pasta and see what the atmosphere was like.

Manager George Terpa said: “It’s got busier and busier each day we’ve been open, and we’ve had really good feedback from customers. The students seem to really like it.

“We have a few vegetarian and vegan options, but we can also just take the meat out of any dish if someone asks.”

“We’re really relaxed here. We know what we’re doing so we don’t get stressed and the customers have been nice so far.”

We noticed a friendly, relaxed, atmosphere in the shop with welcoming staff and enough menu options to ensure even the fussiest of eaters are guaranteed a tasty meal or snack.

With 15 years’ experience in hospitality, George knew what menu options would be popular, and the team remains relaxed and efficient despite customers queuing desperate for their lunch.

The most asked-for dishes on the menu included pasta with; Bolognese, Carbonara, and Alfredo, and meatballs.

George and his mother, Valbona, bring a taste of the Mediterranean with their Greek heritage, and George says his mum’s meatballs are typically Greek but with a secret ingredient making them that little bit special, and George’s favourite dish sold at Casa Della Pasta.

It’s Valbona who’s in charge in the kitchen but George assures us the shop runs like a well-oiled machine.

With two to three hours of preparation needed each morning to get the shop ready for customers, the opening hours are from 10am to 10pm.

All packaging is recyclable and biodegradable, and or those with dietary requirements, gluten-free pasta and lactose-free cream is available on request, and all meat options are halal.
