Police have issued a warning to residents in a North East town to remain vigilant following a series of attempted garage burglaries in a single night.

Would-be thieves targeted nine different garages all over Redcar last night (Tuesday 14 March) as they hoped to gain entry.

Cleveland Police have issued the warning to residents of Redcar and further afield across Cleveland to be vigilant after two men wearing black, and possibly riding bikes, tried to gain entry to nine different garages between 4pm and 6pm last night.

The twosome targeted the below streets:

• Aske Road

• Tyne Road

• Easson Road

• Sandringham Road x 2

• Dene Grove

• Laburnum Road

• Maple Square/Fisherman’s Square

• Park Avenue

Although they left the scenes of their potential crimes empty-handed, officers are appealing for anybody with dash cam or footage from doorbells or CCTV in the area from around that time to contact Cleveland Police on 101 and quoting 048300.
