A North East pub has landed itself a slot on the top 50 gastropubs in the UK after being praised for its “honest and delicious” food.

The Broad Chare has landed at number three on the list of top 10 gastropubs in the UK.

Found in Newcastle upon Tyne, the list, created by travel site Big 7 Travel, describes the venue as the gastropub you wish you lived right next door to.

It adds: “Nothing fancy, nothing fussy, just honest and delicious food and properly local ales.”

The menu offers a range of classic British pub food options, which can sometimes be seasonal.

Customers can also enjoy a range of snacks to eat at the bar or more substantial dishes for a full meal.

The venue has great reviews on TripAdvisor and even sports a Michelin Star.

With a 4.5 stars out of five, with four-and-a-half stars out of five in food and service and four stars in value and atmosphere.

The pub has secured 696 five-star reviews and 373 four-star reviews out of 1,242 reviews altogether.
