Responding to repeated reports of crime and anti-social behaviour at an address in Middlesbrough, Cleveland Police have made five arrests at the property and recovered a firearm.

Officers from Middlesbrough CID were joined by colleagues from the neighbourhood police teams as well as the town's CCTV operators in taking action at an address in Fallows Court following reports of crime and anti-social behaviour.

As a result of their action four men (aged 21, 21, 23 and 24) and a 49 year old woman were arrested on January 13 as part of the police force's ongoing enquiries.

During a search of the property a firearm was recovered and the 25 year old man was charged with possession of a bladed articles.

All those arrested have been released on bail with conditions in connection with other alleged offences which include drug dealing and firearm and drug possession offences.

The property has since been subject to a closure order, which prohibits access to the premises for a specified period.

Police or a local authority can initiate a closure order where anti-social behaviour is attributed to an address and they reasonably believe that there is, or is likely to be either a nuisance to the public or disorder relating to the premises and its vicinity.
