A supermarket worker has raised hundreds of pounds for teenagers with cancer after climbing multiple mountains.
Joe Duncanson, area manager for Aldi, in Hartlepool, has raised £700 for the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), after undertaking a challenge to climb 50 peaks last year.
Inspired by the documentary, 14 Peaks, the 26-year-old channeled his hobby for mountain climbing into a fundraising effort, taking part in climbs across the UK and beyond.
Mr Duncanson, originally from York, who has worked at Aldi for more than three years, praised TCT for their work caring and supporting for children who struggle with cancer.

He said: “I have had the pleasure of meeting the Teenage Cancer Trust team and witnessing the amazing work they do for children of all ages.
"The level of care and support they provide is brilliant and no child should have to go through a situation like that without Teenage Cancer Trust by their side.
“Completing this challenge is a massive achievement, and it has been an absolute honour to raise money for such a worthy cause.”
Mr Duncanson, who joined Aldi permanently after a stint as an industrial placement student, climbed peaks in Wales, Scotland, and even Austria.
He also thanked those donating to the trust through his GoFundMe page, and for their support of such a good cause.

“The care and guidance Teenage Cancer Trust provide to young people who are in such difficult situations is invaluable and the importance of what they do can’t be overestimated.”

Aldi has been working with Teenage Cancer Trust since 2017. So far, Aldi colleagues across the country have helped raise more than £7 million through various initiatives, with a target to raise £10 million by 2027
At the time of writing, the fundraiser has reached a total of £720 of its £2,022 goal.
