HELEN Flanagan has revealed how she made a train blunder when travelling from Glasgow to London after her recent trip.

The ex-Coronation Street star and former partner of ex-Hoops player Scott Sinclair enjoyed a festive break in Scotland with her children.

We previously told how the 32-year-old was staying at the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel and took her kids to Elfingrove in Glasgow’s West End.

She wrote: "I love Glasgow, we lived here for a good three years and had the best time."

But when making her way back to England, Helen called herself an “idiot” for travelling during strike action.

She shared a photo with her children and wrote: “Train journey with all three” before uploading a photo of herself, writing: “Yes, I am the idiot getting on trains when there is strikes”.

Helen then spoke to her one million followers via her Instagram story and explained: “So, my dad did say to me 'don't go on the trains today,' but I decided that y’know, it might be okay, there might be some trains running.

"So, I'm on a train. I've got to go to London tomorrow, but I'm meeting the girls' nana in Birmingham.

"So, yeah, I'm just hoping that I can actually... as long as I get the kids okay, I don't know how I'm going to get to London tomorrow.

"I might even have to stay over in Birmingham and get a train in the morning.

"I mean, it's always quite stressful I suppose when you’re travelling with kids, isn't it?

"But I've got their iPads, I’ve also got colouring for them, crayons, snacks".

A few hours later, the actress updated her fans.

She said: "So, I've just cleaned up an egg and cress sandwich that Charlie threw on the floor."

Helen then confirmed that she managed to travel by train from Birmingham to London.

She shared a picture of herself and wrote: “Amazed I managed to get the last train to London.”

She added: "So, I'm on the train - I think I've, like, sweated my make up off.

"But yeah, it feels weird now to be without the kids.

"But I've got loads of positive things going on, so I'm going to go and stay with some friends tonight and then I've got a work thing tomorrow.”
