It comes as a manhunt is ongoing to locate Alexander Carr, who they urgently want to speak to as part of their enquiries.

Carr is believed to know he is wanted and thought to be ‘actively evading arrest’ with extensive searches being carried out across the North East in a bid to locate him.

The 32-year-old is said to have links to Newcastle City Centre, Jesmond and Sunderland.

Officers have released a second picture of Carr in a bid to help locate him.

On Wednesday (December 7) crime scene investigators could be seen on Brady Street as residents paid tribute to the deceased, with one called her a “lovely lady”, adding that while they did not know her well, she was always "nice", "happy" and "smiling" when they saw her.

If you have seen Carr, or know any information of his whereabouts, Northumbria Police are asking you to contact them immediately by calling 999 quoting crime number 143632K/22.
