A desperate mum has made an emotional plea to her missing son to return home, five weeks after he was last seen.

Marilyn Edwards has told how she is ‘dog tired’ and ‘can’t sleep’ as she pleaded for her missing son Peter to come back home.

Peter was last seen walking at 5.42pm on Saturday October 22, walking at the side of Asda at Skelton Retail Park, and hasn’t been seen by his family since.

Marilyn said she became concerned when she found her the lunchbox she had made up for him still there when she woke up the next day.

She said: “Even if he had gone off for the weekend he would have been back for work on Sunday night so I was expecting him to rock up. When he didn’t I started to worry.

“I had his box made up for work and when I got up it was still there so I knew he hadn’t been back.

“Peter used to call me every day on his dinner hour; he loves his job, and I know he would never miss work.

“No one just disappears for weeks; he has no belongings with him and the clothes he was wearing when I last saw him were not warm clothes.

“Peter is 38 years old, but he is still my baby. I’m not sleeping well at all; please if you know anything at all just get in touch so we can find him.”

Cleveland Police Detective Chief Inspector Steve Chatterton added: “Peter is close to his mum and the fact that he has not been in touch with her for this length of time is worrying.
