They also recovered knuckle dusters as well as a quantity of cash. Further bags of cannabis with a significant street value were discovered in a vehicle linked to the address.

They have been released under investigation so enquiries can continue.

Richmondshire Inspector Martin Metcalfe said: “This was a very successful operation which has taken a large quantity of drugs and dangerous weapons off our streets.

“I hope it sends a very clear message that we’re not messing about when we have reason to suspect drugs are being dealt, doors will go in and arrests will be made. There are no warnings and no exceptions.

“It’s the latest in a series of intelligence-led operations where we’ve used warrants to enter properties and seize illegal substances, knives and other items associated with crime and violence. If you’re dealing drugs in North Yorkshire, you can expect this to happen to you.”

Insp Metcalfe also urged anyone with information about possible drug dealing in their community to ‘report it’ link through their website or call on 101.

“By working together, we’ll be able to confiscate even more drugs and weapons and ensure those responsible are identified and dealt with robustly,” he added.

In a separate operation two men and a woman were arrested after two cars were stopped and dozens of bags of cocaine found. North Yorkshire police said two different vehicles were searched in the Harrogate area and as well as suspected cocaine, a lock knife also found in one of the cars whose driver had been banned from driving.

A man in his 20s arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs has been charged with possessing a blade and driving while disqualified.

A woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of class-A drug offences, a second man in the other vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of possessing class-A drugs.

All were bailed pending investigations.
