This film has certainly not got the recognition and credit it deserves within the media! It is as funny as Knocked Up and Superbad yet was only shown on the little screens with a very small audience! This hilarious movie follows Peter Bretter to Hawaii on his journey through his latest heartbreak from TV star and girlfriend Sarah Marshall. Upon arriving he discovers that perhaps taking a toaster in the bath may have been a better idea as she too is there with her new horny boyfriend singer sensation Aldous Snow (Russell Brand).
The audience then really get a sense of how small the island is with awkward and disastrous meetings with the new couple. Watching Peter get to the brink of having a nervous breakdown only to bounce back with various "flings" provides only part of the humour. A strong performance from Jonha Hill as Matthew the waiter tragically in love with Russell Brands character results in a comical relationship between the two and many opportunities for side-splitting one liners!
Personally I found Aldous Snow's (Russell Brand) character to be most successful with aspects of Russell's cheeky, confident ladies man side brought into Snow's arrogance. Brand certainly didn't let this side of the Atlantic down with an awesome performance carried out in a cool and confident manner.
Highly recommended to buy once out on DVD as a Sunday evening feel-good movie! Guaranteeing full on belly laughs with of course the happy ending we all crave in our own lives!
