A bus service through Darlington as forced to make an extra stop on its journey this week when flying debris smashed one of the side windows.

Passengers were left shaken by the incident which happened on an Arriva service in the Springfield area of the town, shortly after 7.30pm on Monday (October 31) evening.

Unconfirmed social media reports suggest a group of youths started throwing rocks at the bus which had passengers on board at the time.
