A house fire in Hartlepool has resulted in a road closure while the emergency services remain on the scene.

Cleveland Fire Brigade and Cleveland Police were on the scene from just before 6:30am today (Friday, October 28).

Three fire engines were in attendance from Hartlepool and Billingham Fire Stations along with breathing apparatus to the address on Grange Road, Hartlepool.

Fortunately, there were no causalities due to the incident but the property suffered considerable smoke damage.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: "We were called to a house fire on 28/10/2022 at 06.25 on Grange Road in Hartlepool. Three fire engines in attendance from Hartlepool and Billingham. House well alight in kitchen. 4 Breathing Apparatus, 2 Hose Real and Positive Pressure Ventilation used. No casualties. Crews are still at the scene and the incident is ongoing."

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Police were made aware at 6:30am today of a house fire on Grange Road, Hartlepool, and a road closure is in place."
