The victim of the serious assault at a North Yorkshire pub on Saturday evening has died.

Peter Walker, 41, from Lancashire, died in hospital yesterday, Tuesday, October 25.

North Yorkshire Police have asked that the family is left to grieve in peace.

Police made an appeal for information after the incident which occurred at Black Horse Hotel in Skipton at around 11.25pm on October 22.

Shortly afterwards, two Skipton men and one man from Bingley were arrested on suspicion of assault.

The Skipton men aged 33 aged 36, and the Bingley man aged 38 were released on conditional bail pending further enquiries. It is not known if the men have been rearrested following the victim's death.

Officers thank those members of the public who have come forward with information.
