This evening (Tuesday, October 18, between 5pm and 7pm) North Durham Academy are once again opening their doors to all Year 6 students, parents and carers to showcase everything they have to offer your child over the next stage of their education.

This will be another opportunity for students to have a more personalised tour of the academy with members of the senior leadership team, and to get familiar with staff and students in a quiet setting where any questions can be answered.

There will be talks from Principal Mark Gray, chief executive officer Linda Rodham and other key members in your child’s transition from primary school to secondary school.

As well as seeing everything that this Ofsted rated ‘GOOD’ school has to offer, they are will be a free fish and chip supper on offer to every attendee.

North Durham Academy were recently given the Ofsted rating ‘Good’ with notable quotes regarding their curriculum such as ‘providing ambitious and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of pupils is at the heart of what leaders do at this school.’

North Durham Academy have strong links with the community which was highlighted in the Good Ofsted report ‘leaders are reflective and are keen to build on the work which has already taken place with the wider community.’

This is the second time North Durham Academy has opened its doors to Year 6 students as earlier this month the first open evening was a showcase of the ‘Magic of NDA’ with performances from the school band and dance students performing their choreographed routines to the crowds.

One carer who attended the night remarked: "There were so many of your current students that were involved and clearly the school has such a positive inclusive culture, they were proud to showcase their talents."
