POLICE investigating a suspected flasher have asked the parents of two young girls to come forward.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and officers would like to speak to the youngsters, who are thought to be aged between eight and 12-years-old.
The incident took place between 8.30pm and 9pm on Monday, May 12.
The man is alleged to have exposed himself in the rear lane which runs between Whickham Street East and Carlcroft Avenue, Monkwearmouth.
The arrested man has been released by the police pending further inquiries.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen someone acting suspiciously has been asked to come forward by police.
