A TEDDY bear's picnic held on a tourist railway line this bank holiday weekend has been declared a success.
The event was organised by the Weardale Railway on Sunday and their trains, which ferried people between Wolsingham and Stanhope stations, were busy throughout the day.
Youngsters were offered a free ride on the trains if they brought a teddy, and picnic bags were sold in the heritage griddle car.
The party took place at the recreation field by Stanhope station and there was entertainment from magician Ward Allen and Rodger the dog.
