BUDDING chefs are being invited to submit recipes for inclusion in a cookery book, being produced to raise money for a good cause.

Staff at the Leeming Garth Nursing Home, in Leeming Bar, hope to put together the book to raise money for the centre.

The book will be a collection of all-time favourites, including recipes adapted from celebrity chefs' offerings, or those that have been handed down the generations.

Organiser Jane Thompson said: "Anybody who cooks can send us a recipe.

"They can be for anything and come from Jamie Oliver, or someone's grandmother, as long as we know where the recipes originated.

"We are producing the book to raise funds for some comfortable reclining chairs for the residents."

Mrs Thompson said organisers are looking for as many entries as possible, with a retail price for the completed book still to be finalised.

The book will be available at the nursing home's summer fair, which takes place on Saturday, July 26.

Entries must be received by Saturday, July 5.
