North Yorkshire Police has made two class-A drug arrests and seized a large amount of substances in the latest operation to tackle drug dealing in the area.

A warrant was used to enter a house in Ripon and specialist officers and police dogs searched it and discovered a large quantity of powder.

This powder has been sent for forensic tests but the police believe it to be cocoaine.

Officers arrested a man and a woman, both in their 30s, on suspicion of possessing class-A drugs with intent to supply.
