A North East road was closed this morning following a two-vehicle crash.
The A197 was closed both ways after a crash near Pegswood earlier this morning.
Police later confirmed that it was a two-vehicle crash and emergency services attended the scene.
The road has now reopened and Northumbria Police have provided an update on the incident.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Shortly after 7.45am today (Monday) we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A197 near Pegswood.
“Emergency services attended the scene. The road has since reopened.”
