FIVE people have been released on bail after more than £1 million worth of amphetamines were seized in raids by police.
Twelve kilos of the drug were recovered from two homes in the Braid Crescent area of Billingham, on Friday night.
Acting on a tip off, officers searched the premises under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Three men aged 40, 25 and 23-years-old and two females aged 18 and 23-years-old were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs.
They were questioned by detectives and then released on bail to return on August 15.
Forensic analysis is expected to be carried out on the drugs in the meantime.
All five people arrested are from the Billingham area.
